Off the Sky - Caustic Light - I'm loving this EP. It has the melodic floaty-dubby-ness of Irresistible Force combined with the fractured structure and spaciousness of Vladislav Delay and the warm fuzzyness of Tim Hecker. Ok, maybe that made no sense what-so-ever to you. To put it another way: Good. His Gently Down the Stream album is also excellent. Respect.
Someone was nice enough to do a Mac compile of Vikapad, the little program I wrote awhile back. Any brave soul out there willing to give it a try? Use at your own risk: Vikapad for Mac

Young People With Old Ears- "Researchers fear the growing popularity of portable music players and other items that attach directly to the ears — including cell phones — is contributing to hearing loss in younger people."
Mark your calendars, I'll be playing on Saturday, October 29th at Aqua Lounge in Philadelphia. It's a new monthly called Ars Electrik. I'm hoping to have a good deal of new material ready for it. I believe Vostek will also be performing.
And... Introducing... Genericorp Radio. Broadcasting an eclectic mix from the home server of yours truly, Nintariman, Cerebral, and Vostek. (UPDATE: And Profolyx too!)
While were on plugins, Nintariman and I tested out VSTunnel the other day, and it works surprisingly well. Distributed Team Techno practice is coming soon, hopefully.
Someone has gone and invented an IDM knob. Listen to the demo mp3s. Instant windowlicker. Finally, we can be done with that business. Time to move on kiddies.

Some essential reading on the horrible mess in New Orleans:
On the Bush administration's culpability
A typcially insensitive quote from Bush:
We've got a lot of rebuilding to do. First, we're going to save lives and stabilize the situation. And then we're going to help these communities rebuild. The good news is -- and it's hard for some to see it now -- that out of this chaos is going to come a fantastic Gulf Coast, like it was before. Out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house -- he's lost his entire house -- there's going to be a fantastic house. And I'm looking forward to sitting on the porch. (Laughter.)
"The federal official in charge of the bungled New Orleans rescue was fired from his last private-sector job overseeing horse shows. And before joining the Federal Emergency Management Agency as a deputy director in 2001, GOP activist Mike Brown had no significant experience that would have qualified him for the position."

Big day in my corner of the internet. Matt's site is back up with all kinds of goodies, and the new Vostek album Experiments in Time Divisions is online.
I haven't had a chance to listen to Matt's CSDK podcast, but I'm loving the new Vostek material. Mind bending polyrhythms and meter changes. The track "Can you find all the flips" makes me want to dance in wild spastic seizures. My brain feels funny listening to this music. So good!
