Ok... so I keep changing my mind. Ah well... Now it's all back in one place.
So, the Team Techno show went pretty well, despite a few technical glitches (as ususal), and a very small turn out. It was quite disheartening, but I was quite happy to hear that Philadelphia now has a monthly progressive electronic music event on Saturdays! Yay! It's called FM and the next one will be on November 20th. Check the g25 Productions site for more info.

Big big thanks to everyone who helped out and performed at the FE(A)ST electronic music festival and bake sale on Sunday. I feel that it was a success despite the small turnout. (It's hard to get people to come out to the 'burbs.) The talent on display was impressive, the venue was perfect, and the food was fantastic. I'm still dreaming about the Vytear Lemon Squares.
Especially big thanks to Andrea for coming up with the idea, providing the venue, getting the sound system, and everything else!
...and to Nick for getting the truck, transporting the speakers, and all your help manning the bake sale table.
...and to Steve for arriving early to help set up.
...and to David, Steve, and Nick for the flyer design.
...and to Mark and Jasper for coming down all the way from Providence to perform.
...and to all the open minded 60+ year old heads who came out. Mad respect. May I be as cool as you when I am your age.
...and to everyone who contributed baked goods and then turned around to pay for some! I believe we may have actually earned enough to pay off the sound system rental. (I'll have to check with Andrea on that.)
...and to Keith and Cliff for performing their visuals practically nonstop throughout the entire evening. I was repeatedly wowed. I hope to get some photos online soon.
...and everyone else who came out and performed. Your talent and generosity are inspiring.
....and finally thanks to everyone who came out to watch and listen. Thank you for supporting the local electronic arts.
Reminder! The FE(A)ST electronic music festival and bake sale is tomorrow night. Fresh, local electronic music, tweaked visual stimulation, and yummy cookies & milk. What more could you ask for on a fine Sunday evening?
If you live in New York, you probably have passed by Swoon’s work. Her cutouts and block prints decorate walls all over the city, remaining until they flake away or simply rot. She lets the weather wear down her work, even though making most pieces takes hours, not to mention meticulous attention, detail, and even pain, because years of carving have exacted a toll on her hands. The paste that keeps her work on walls loses its strength. The printed or cutout faces yellow and then fall apart. The arm of a woman decays into ribbons.
